Gathering Dinner #2

Oh my…have been eating and eating every weekend.  Had dinner with another group of his classmates, another group which we will meet up more often, go for group trip together.  Ash came to pick us up at 7pm and we headed to House of Seafood @ 180, a famous Seafood Restaurant.  Managed to find a parking lot opposite the restaurant without having to wait too long.

The restaurant was packed, luckily, T made reserverations in advance.  It’s always difficult to get a seat in there, especially with 11 of us.  We had a medium-sized table for 11 of us (not all small size ya).  We requested to changed to a bigger table, but the waitress told us that is for 13 pax and above.  Duh, I don’t think it’s a great difference between 11pax and 13pax 🙁  Service was still quite ok, couldn’t ask much as it’s really packed.

We ordered around 11 dishes, all large portions (doesn’t seems like it though):
Fish Maw Soup,  Sautéed Venison with Ginger & Spring Onion, Pork Ribs with Honey Sauce, Stir Fry Vegetable, Stir Fry French Beans, Crispy Beancurd with Chef’s Special Sauce, Shrimp Paste Chicken, Deep Fried Baby Squid, Signature Chilli Crab, Salted Egg Crab, Signature Black Pepper Crab.  Oh, and 20 deep fried buns to go with the gravy of the Chilli Crab.
Note:  Pink being their recommended dishes.

I’ve always been a fan of Seafood, especially Crab & Prawns (not a fan of Black Pepper Crab though :P).  We ordered 3 crabs to be served differently and Salted Egg was probably the one that’s worth trying.  Chilli Crab, Salted Egg Crab and their famous Black Pepper Crab:
Chilli Crab – Gravy was nice (but slightly sweet).  I’ve always loved the Chilli Crab in my friend’s restaurant, too bad he stopped operating 🙁
Salted Egg Crab – great with rich salted egg flavour (sinful though :P)
Black Pepper Crab – not really a fan of Black Pepper Crab, hence am not sure how to differentiate whether it’s nice or not.  But T said it’s nice.  However, this crab doesn’t seems to be as fresh as the other 2.
Crab @ S$50 per kg, the waitress said the size of their crab is around 1.4 – 1.6kg.

Total orders added up to S$500 plus, slightly a bit pricey for the portion of the food that was served.  Crab was quite worth it though…

Overall:  ♥♥♥
