Had dinner @ AMK 香港街珍记 (Hong Kong Street Chun Kee) with his secondary classmates (group 1), a regular yearly CNY activity. It’s my first time there, and seems like Jas is their regular customer. Lotsa tables under reservation as most of the companies reserved several tables with them for their mini company dinner. We managed to get a bigger table, thanks to Jas 😀 Well, gathering dinner need not be in some posh place. This family restaurant situated in one of the neighbourhood in Singapore, and most importantly, the food is good! And AGAIN!!! I was happily eating and forgot to take pictures of all the dishes 🙁 I must make it a point to remember next time.
We started off with the Lo Hei affair (my #4 or #5 – lost count :P). EY’s voice was the loudest among us, and everyone turned to look at us. Well, of course, there’s nothing weird about it. Next came the “San Lo Hor Fun“, apparently quite good and of course had good reviews on most of the food blogs or food directories. Ingredients are simple (Hor Fun, Beansprouts, Fish slices) yet require skills of the chef to maintain the overall smoothness of the fish and crunchiness of the bean sprouts.
Star of the night 2: Shrimp Paste Chicken – Well marinated with shrimp paste and crispy. It seems to be a “must have” on every table. What’s next? We had Seafood Claypot, Steam Fish, Salted Egg Prawns (but with some curry flavor too), Sambal Kang Kong and 排骨王(sweet & sour pork ribs?).
Overall: ♥♥♥♥
