[in Hong Kong] It’s day 4 in Hong Kong and scheduled to fly back to Singapore at 9pm. Just wanna relax, do some last minute shopping for local delights (Wife’s Biscuits) and of course not forgetting a Dim Sum brunch. Brought him to Lin Heung Tea House (蓮香樓) during the last trip, kinda shocking for him. He didn’t enjoy the environment and dining experience there. We had to look for the seats ourselves, or wait behind someone for their seats and likely to share the table with strangers. It’s crowded and loud and may not have the cleanest table :p And you may have to snatch your food when it’s being placed on the trolley. Wahahaha… So, having his parents along this time, he’s not prepared to do all those. But overall, I would say one should experience it at least once when they go HK. It is a totally different dining culture and the food is good and cheap! OH! Remember to wash the cups, bowls, spoons and chopsticks before you eat.
Lin Heung Tea House – One of the oldest, traditional Hong Kong style restaurants in Hong Kong. They serve dim sum during the day and main courses at night. Their food, especially their dim sum is traditional and yummy yummy.
Decided to go to 鴻星海鮮酒家 (Super Star Seafood Restaurant) at Times Square (Causeway Bay). Been there several times and actually wanna try different Dim Sum restaurant this time. but due to time constraints and need to do some last minute shopping in the area, so don’t want t0 spend time travelling from one place to another. To avoid the long queue at the lift in Time Square, we left hotel and reached there at around 11+. Luckily there’s no queue :p
The interior looks grand
He he he…here’s what I’ve ordered :p Wish I had order more, but boyfriend stopped me…ha ha ha…and he’s right, we had problem finishing everything but contemplated if we should order another Porridge or Roast Meat…wahahahaha…it’s really YUMMY!!! Definitely a must-have on your table!
from top left (clockwise): Freshly Boiled Congee with Preserved Egg & Minced Meat (皮蛋瘦肉粥), Roast Meat (燒肉), Carrot Cake with XO Sauce (XO 醬炒蘿蔔糕), Steamed Rice Roll with BBQ Porl (叉燒腸粉), Prawn Dumpling aka Har Gow (蝦餃), Steamed Creamy Custard Bun (奶皇流沙包 – boyfriend prefers the one from Bosses Restaurant (黑社會) @ Vivo City), Siew Mai (燒賣), Deep Fried Egg Custard Dumpling Topped with Bird’s Nest (燕窩奶皇煎堆), Steamed Shrimp Dumpling in Penguin Shape (小企鵝), Spare Rib & Assorted Sausage Pot Rice (臘腸排骨煲仔飯).
They have a series of cutie Dim Sum, eg. Bees, Penguin, Lion, Panda, etc. He he he…couldn’t resist temptations but boyfriend only allow one and that is Penguin Steamed Dumping. Hm…it taste a bit like our Soon Kueh…but not very nice. I find it a bit bland…
Oh, if you have noticed, there’s 2 pairs of chopsticks on the table. For hygiene purposes, the black one is for taking food from shared dishes while the white one is to be used personally for eating.
