An impromptu dinner date with JL. Was discussing at about 3plus on where to go, what to eat. Shit happens at times. I was required to work late at the last minute. Almost 7.45pm and I’m still in office, so she suggested to have dinner near my office instead. So, I suggested Poulét since I wanted to try.
“Poulét [Chicken in French] is the first French Casual Dining Restaurant Chain Concept in Singapore. The introduction is a modern French-themed bistro offering affordable French classics to the mass public.”
Well, we were both hungry. As usual, couldn’t decide what to eat, always too many options (even though they don’t have much main dishes to choose from :p). Feel like having this, feel like having that and this went on for quite a while. We decided to order a main each and share. Tempted to order the Tiramisu, the picture from the menu looks nice! Well, I am still not feeling well and am still having small appetite. She kiv-ed that…ha ha ha…
Ta-dah!!!
Iberico Pork Belly ($15.80)
“Braised Spanish Iberico Pork Belly served with Mashed Potato, Leek Confit and Double Mustard”
Ok, not as fat & sinful as you think it will be. It doesn’t really the kind that will melt in your mouth immediately, you can still chew some lean meat. Mashed Potato is smooth, wonder how they do it.
Rotisserie Poulét Roti ($15.80/Half)
“Our restaurant’s star dish deserves every thumbs up it has been give. The poultry is brined for a full day in a traditional recipe then placed in the rotisserie for a slow roast until the skin tans to a golden brown. Lastly we added oomph to the dish with our home-made Mushroom Chardonnay Sauce to create the perfect combination.”
This is one of the dish which I wanted to order, but worried that it will be too creamy for me. JL ordered this. When it was served, I tasted the sauce. OH MY! I’m so glad she ordered this for sharing. Really creamy…definitely recommended for those who love creamy dishes. The meat is very tender that you can cut it without much effort and it goes well with the home-made Mushroom Chardonnay sauce. YUMMY!
I ordered Chamomile ($4.90) while JL ordered Orange Juice ($4.80). I have to share this pic from JL. Love her pics, even the Chamomile Tea looks so nice!
Well, we didn’t order the Tiramisu in the end because we were very full after the main dishes. If we are going to dine there again, I think we can only order a main, dessert and maybe a soup :p
