Was passing by on Monday, realised that the new Plaza Singapura is done, so we’ve decided to go there for a walk last night after work. Wanna watch movie, but not much seats left, decided to watch another day. The extension isn’t as nice as the artiste impression which I saw previously. Perhaps, that’s what pictures are deceiving all about :p Anyways, it’s artiste impression… With the expanded space, there are more tenants, ranging from F&B, Apparels, Beauty & Lifestyle, such as Sephora, Uniqlo, GAP, JRUNWAY, Canele, etc.
As usual, I was late, he was there for like 45mins, walking around alone. He saw some nice shirts in Uniqlo. Went there with him, and sadly, no size for him. Guess we got to try in other Uniqlo outlets. Like every other Friday nights, every restaurant was packed. There’s queue in every restaurant, even with the additional number of restaurants. Deciding what to eat is always a headache for both of us. I was craving for Spaghetti 5 mins ago, but 5 mins later I feel like eating Japanese. He’s not a fan of Seaweed, hence Japanese cuisine was always the last choice for him.
We walked around and decided to dine in The Cafe Cartel. Luckily, we didn’t have wait long for a table. It has been a long time since I last visited Cafe Cartel. I am interested in the Breakfast menu, but only available on Sat, Sun and Public Holiday… Sigh…he get to try them in Jurong with M before their meeting with client.
Grilled Tender Chicken with Black Pepper Sauce (S$15.60)
Chicken was juicy and nicely grilled. Black Pepper Sauce not too spicy for me, but seems bland and tasteless to him. Comes with Potato Wedges and Veggies (Broccoli, Capsicums, Onions). I finished his Broccoli since he doesn’t like it. Topped up additional S$3.90 for soup and drinks.
Hawaiian Pork Chop (S$18.50)
3 pieces of grilled tender pork chops, pineapples with mushroom sauce, served with Veggies and Fries. However, the sauce seems to be too sweet to be mushroom sauce, or was it because of the pineapples, and I quite like it. Love the pork chops as it’s not too hard for me, just nice. Topped up additional S$3.90 for soup and drinks.
Fish Fingers with Tartar Sauce (S$7.90)
Fish Fingers, quite normal sides and it’s available in most supermarkets. Towards the end of the dinner, he then realise that all snacks, desserts, ice-creams, cakes are at 50% off after 9pm. Oh…I wonder if Fish Fingers one of them?
Oh, saw this on one of the menu, accumulating the Acorns. It’s a social loyalty platform that allows you redeem vouchers or freebies with the loyalty points earned when we shop or dine. In this case, we are accumulating Acorns. Quite interesting. All you need to do is download the app “Squiryl”, Scan the QR code on the receipt to earn your Acorns and Redeem ๐ According to Squiryl’s website, I can trade acorns with my friends too. Quite fun. But I wonder if I can earn the Acorns from merchant A and redeem from merchant B? ย Should be able to, I guess…
Total bill added up to S$52.40, after a 10% discount with payment by DBS credit card. 1 Acorn earned for every S$10 spent in a single receipt, so I’ve got 5 Acorns ๐
01May2013: Sorry, it came kinda late. It’s a pity that Squiryl stopsย We will officially stop all operations on 15th April 2013. And Squiryl users can redeem any outstanding token before 31st May 2013.ย
