It was a public holiday (Vesak Day) on Tuesday, took leave on Monday so that we can rest for 4 days :p He he he…initially planned to go for a weekend trip, but kinda last minute to plan. We ended up at home most of the time. Was surfing through Facebook, Instagram and came across some steamed cakes. Look interesting and simple. Good for me because there’s no oven in his kitchen. He he he…I would love to get one but he prefers an Air Fryer and till now we have yet to get any. Wahahaha…
Went to NTUC to get the necessary ingredients and Ta Dah!
He he he…think the plain ones looks nicer than those with Nutella. Actually couldn’t really taste the Nutella. Boyfriend suggested to put Jam (as per the recipe) or Hersheys Chocolate Chip in the middle. Hm…the chocolate chip sounds nice…shall try it next time.
Since I cannot take milk, I replaced it with Soya Milk. He he he…think the soya milk smell was kinda strong, but colleagues find it ok. He he he… There’s some Steamed Cakes recipes with Yogurt in it…couldn’t try those, not sure what I can use t replace the Yogurt…erm… Will do more research.
- 3 eggs
- 150g Sugar
- 150ml Soya Milk
- 300g flour (I bought Top Flour from the supermarket, not sure if it's the same :p)
- 3tsp baking powder
- Beat eggs and sugar in a large bowl, until light and fluffy.
- Add soya milk, and fold in flour and baking powder, until combined
- Pour the batter into the mould.
- Put all into the steamer; make sure water is boiling.
- Steam over medium low heat for 10-15 minutes
- Let them cool and serve
Shall try to make some nicer designs next time. I came across some ladybirds, doraemon or piggy steamed cakes…am going to practice more and make my own Eeyore steamed cakes 😀
