Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year

How’s your preparation for the Lunar New Year? Besides packing and cleaning my room, I also bought some new clothes. Thankfully, I am able to fit into the 2 dresses which I bought much earlier from Qoo10. I guess it’s really time to go on a serious diet. Well, guess that has to be done after CNY :p His mom bought lotsa CNY goodies :p there’s pineapple tarts, pistachios, cookies, mini spring rolls, peanuts, etc. Look at the table full of new year goodies…yum yum yum…

His mom also bought lotsa CNY decorations, eg. paper-cuts, plants, etc to decorate the house. She will buy lots of them every year. Usually she will buy a pot of plants, but this year, they bought a pot of Kumquat which symbolises prosperity. Also not forgetting the basket of Mandarin Oranges. It’s a tradition to exchange a pair of mandarin oranges and say some auspicious greetings when we visit our relatives/friends during Lunar New Year.

Went to his aunt’s place for reunion dinner. Initially, she planned to have steamboat at home, but somehow his mom decided to go to his aunt’s place for dinner instead. As usual, before the dinner start, we will have the “Lo-Hei” or Prosperity Toss. It’s one of the must-haves. Here’s what we had for dinner. Delicious! Maybe not a sumptuous dinner, but what matters most is that family members gather around happily and have dinner together 🙂
