We were both on leave on my BD 😀 Initially, planned to make a trip to USS, but it was raining heavily in the morning. We left home at about 1plus in the afternoon and went to Gardens by the Bay instead.since we never been there before too.

We alighted at Bayfront MRT station, walked the underground linkway at Exit B. You will come to the entrance of the Gardens by the Bay after crossing the Dragonfly Bridge.

At the Supertree Grove

Lunch at Texas Chicken

Exhibitors were busy setting up their booths for the Singapore Garden Festival 2014 (16 – 24 Aug 2014). We went to the Garden Festival at Suntec City in 2012.

Walked around and came to the 2 conservatories. Bought our tickets and went in. There’s discount for Passion Card holders 😀

In the Flower Dome
Here’s a world of perpetual spring where unique plants bloom in the ever changing display of flowers. The Flower Dome replicates the cool-dry climate of Mediterranean regions like South Africa, California and parts of Spain and Italy. Love the temperature in there. Spent a while walking around, looking at the plants and flowers from different parts of the globe.

Seen lotsa blogs with nice photos taken during the visits to the Tulipmania…such a pity that I’ve missed it 🙁

In the Cloud Forest
Entirely different environment from the Flower Dome. Cool and moist conservatory with a 35m tall mountain and the world’s tallest indoor waterfall showcasing the various plant life from tropical highlands.

I think there are some other sections we didn’t explore, like the World of Plants, Heritage Gardens, Children’s Garden, Bay East Garden, etc. Guess have to wait till next time…

We walked to the Marina Barrage after coming out from the Cloud Forest without knowing that it’s within walking distance. Well, it’s like a 5 to 10mins walk. Luckily, the weather was good, we quite enjoyed the walk. You can also come here to cycle or blade along the waterfront promenade, really a nice environment. Spent a while at the Barrage, looking at the kites in the sky, enjoying the breeze and the skyline view… We hardly take such long walks I think… Great experience.

Final stop – Satay by the Bay!!
There’s wide variety of yummy hawker delicacies such as BBQ Chicken Wings, Chicken Rice, Popiah, Fried Carrot Cake, Fried Oyster Omelette and more… There’s also selection of live seafood such as Sambal Stingray, Chilli Crabs, etc.

We had the BBQ & Steamboat buffet. Each pax at $25.00. There’s quite a bit of choices of meat, vegetables and seafood. They have crayfish, flower crabs, prawns, squid, fish (both plain and marinated), Clams, Mussels, Scallops. Oh my, there’s actually quite a number of seafood items. Drooling! Ha ha ha…so sorry, I was busy eating. This is the only pic I’ve got.

Despite the location, I would want to visit the place and try the other yummy hawker food again!! There’s a free shuttle bus loop service available from Mondays to Fridays from 6pm to 1130pm (excluding Public Holiday).

Hm…why don’t they have the shuttle service on weekends too???
