We haven’t meet for quite some time, each busy with own stuffs. Since T suggested to have dinner together. So, we’ve started researching where to go, somewhere less raw stuffs, less seafood for Ash. Boyfriend saw this buffet deal in one of the deals site and shared in the group chat. Ash was ok with it, so we went ahead and here we are, at Shinkei (Toa Payoh).

There’s 11 of us, so we requested for a room. As usual I’m always late…wahaha…they had already started eating. They gave me the order sheet to write down the orders and told me that every serving size is just 1 piece, gunkan comes in pair, 2 slices of sashimi for 1 serving, etc.
Didn’t manage to take photos of all the food because I was busy munching away…wahahhaa…
Gyoza
Beansprouts – Boyfriend loved it, especially the fried garlic.

Ebi Tempura
Personally, I don’t like the Ebi Tempura. It’s hard and the batter has this alkaline taste (like those fat yellow noodle). Loved the Fried Chicken pieces, smells nice and yummy! Spider Temaki (no photo) were loosely wrapped. Proportion of rice and the soft shell crab was not balanced, we even had one with just a leg of the soft shell crab.
A must-order item for me if there’s any in the menu – Nankotsu Karrage (chicken cartilage). It doesn’t smell as nice as those fried chicken pieces and would be good if it’s in smaller pieces. It’s slightly too long. I still missed the ones I had in HK few years back…
Overall, service, ambience was good, food was alright. Good place for group gathering, if you needed a room. There’s also wide variety of choices and can easily satisfy your cravings for sashimi.
