A Techie Lunch at Genki Sushi (Chinatown Point)

Genki Sushi

He he he…realise that I forgot about this entry, hence the delay. Sorry ๐Ÿ™

The company was nominated and also a winner in Mob-Ex Awards 2013. Mob-Ex Awards recognises the leading organisations that have measurable success, oustanding works in mobile marketing. There are 23 categories altogether, you can visit their website for the list of winners. Congratulations once again and hopefully there’s more to come!

We went to Genki Sushi at Chinatown Point for lunch on 22 Mar 2013. Well, usually my colleagues would go for simple lunches but it was a joyous occassion. If I remember correctly, I think this is my first time dining in Genki Sushi. Couldn’t believe it, right. My friends and I usually go to Sakae Sushi during our younger days. Nowadays, we frequent Ichiban Boshi, Itacho Sushi or Sushi Tei… When I stepped into Genki Sushi, the first thing that caught my eye was the ipads at the charging station, on the wall, etc. Is it the trend now? Restaurants used to have palm tops for staffs to take our orders. It’s ipad now. Even on the street, you no longer need to fill questionaires on paper. You can just select your answers via ipad.

Let’s order!
Besides the tablet, there’s also a menu on the wall. However, for a group of more than 4, it may take sometime. I find it quite inconvenient as the tablet can only be shared among 2-3 people at the same time. The rest gotta wait.

Food is delivered via the Kousoku (Express) system, shaped like a bullet train travelling on a track to the dinerโ€™s table. The train can only take up to 4 items per trip. Fred not if you worry that soup may spill out. The train system is designed such that it will slow down upon reaching your table. If your table has too many empty plates, simply slip them into the sushi plate-clearing system.ย Quite fun.

Here’s the Charging and Take Out station. Great for those who wanna dine out, don’t have to wait for staffs to take order for you. You can order from the Take Out station.
