Didn’t party during Christmas Eve, and even intended to laze around at home on Christmas day :p
He suggested going Plaza Singapura as he needed to get a new earphone and we can then go to City Square Mall @ Kitchener Road (nearest MRT Station – Farrer Park) for dinner after that. While he’s getting ready, I went to City Square Mall’s website to check what to have for dinner. I didn’t know that it is Singapore’s first Eco-Mall and the website is so flowery & green, with lotsa butterflies.
It is stated in their website:
City Square Mall was conceptualised with environmental sustainability in mind, from the construction process to the building features.
Cool ya, they have designated parking spaces for hybrid & electric cars, screens displaying the mallβs real-time environmental performance, Eco-Restrooms, etc. For more features, you can visit their website. Anyways, found what I wanted to have for dinner – Paddington House of Pancakes (PHOP) π
Metro was not opened on that day. Maybe it’s new with some shops still under renovation, that’s why it’s not so crowded? Weird for a public holiday though. Reached PHOP at about 630pm, there are only like 3-4 tables occupied. We were brought to this table facing the Apartment opposite and since it’s full glass panel, it’s bright. I wonder if that seat will be very warm on sunny days. Well, they should have solutions for that I suppose. The interior is simple and cozy. Mirror’s reflection at the bar counter makes the interior seems bigger. The lamp looks nice too… I love the couch/arm chair (not sure what to call that), it’s so comfy. But white will get dirty easily and will turn yellowish?
Their food pictures are so colorful and way too much varieties for me to choose. Cannot decide π He warned me not to order too much (he he he…he knows I love varieties). Appetizers, Mains, Pancakes Burgers, Desserts, etc. Oh my…was going through the items one by one. Oh, the food names are interesting too. There are Nice, Florence, Amsterdam, etc, names of cities/states/countries.
Full Monty
2 pancakes, 2 nicely done sunny side ups, ham and baked beans. The eggs were nice according to him (I don’t eat not fully cooked egg). Pancakes fluffy but slightly too thick for me. Strong flour taste though.
Colorado Omelette
Is HUGE and it’s not one of the main course. Grilled Chicken+capsicums+mushrooms wrapped with omelette/crepe (a mixture of egg & pancake batter). But I think it is too heavy to eat alone, should be good for sharing
We only ordered 2 items with 2 drinks, total added up to about S$42, inclusive of GST and service charge. Luckily we did not order desserts, because it’s really too filling after the meal. Shall come and try the desserts next time and not ordering main course. But I feel like trying other pancakes too…
